In order to become a Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) registered assessor a person must satisfactorily complete a BER Assessor Training Programme. The programme must meet the following criteria :- HETAC or FETAC approved
The award must at be at least level 6
Must meet the outcomes specified for the award
Must follow the examination policy and undertake
Assignments (30% marks)
Short theory Test (30% marks)
Practical Examination (40% marks)
SEI will only register applicants who have been fully certified and have achieved 70% or greater exam marks by the relevant certification body.
On achieving the award (at 70%) registration is available with SEI by :-
Signing up to a Code of Practice
Paying the annual BER Assessor Registration fee
(€1,000 for 1st year and €500 for following years)
It is recommended assessors should have (Have Public
Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance)
